Peter Jensen is a principal with Beadle Raven LLC and a member of the firm’s Corporate and Securities department. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1981 and has practiced corporate and securities law to date.
Mr. Jensen acquired his Bachelor of Science (Biology and Ecology) and Law degrees at McGill University (with a dual degree in common and civil law). During his science degrees he conducted diabetes research at the Dr. John Dupre research facility at the Royal Victoria Hospital (Montreal) and was a founder and director of a community medical clinic for three years. He was also President of the McGill campus legal clinic for two years, building a reputation for advocacy for which he was granted the Scarlet Key award for community service.
In 1980, Mr. Jensen moved to Vancouver from Montreal and commenced the practice of law in the corporate and securities fields. He co-founded Devlin Jensen in 1987, which was reorganized in 2009 to Jensen Lunny Macinnes Law Corporation. Mr. Jensen has a wide range of legal counseling experience internationally, including trans-border transactions for Canadian companies wishing to become US reporting and trading issuers (conducted in conjunction with a network of US professional advisors) and with US corporations who wish to become Canadian reporting and trading issuers. Mr. Jensen also has significant experience in conducting legal affairs for clients in the Orient, Europe, Africa and Latin America. In the course of these representations, a wide range of professional contacts have been established through the service of clients in these areas. Mr. Jensen represents, and has represented, many companies for their corporate and finance needs in fields such as the environment, waste management, internet services, manufacturing, food products, medical and biological sciences, real estate, mining and many others.
Mr. Jensen has an understanding of the particular challenges facing corporate management as he has been, and is, a director of companies with capitalization in the hundreds of millions. Mr. Jensen has assisted clients in the raising of capital in ranges up to one hundred million dollars, in Canada, the United States, Europe and Hong Kong.
Mr. Jensen has assisted a variety of community organizations including being elected President of ACCESS to Families (an advocacy for children’s rights) and The National Citizens’ Coalition (“NCC”) for which he has been an adviser for many years and with which he worked with Stephen Harper, during Stephen’s Presidency of NCC, to fight injustices and advocate for responsible democracy and individual rights. He is married with five children.
