For over four decades Chris Novak has worked in the field of hi-tech product design, development and manufacturing. He started his career as a product designer, was a founding partner in an R&D business and has worked as project manager at a number of leading edge companies. In recent years Chris has consulted to several small businesses requiring assistance in taking products through the design and development phase, to market.

Chris studied design and production engineering in Cambridge, England before coming to Canada. Since arriving in North America Chris worked for IBM Canada for six years in their Toronto lab as a product designer. While at IBM it became apparent that Chris had a natural talent for sorting out projects that had stalled and was assigned to work in several North American locations, Sweden and Germany to help rejuvenate projects that were not meeting expectations, budgets or schedules. This is a talent he has continued to utilize throughout his career.

He was a member of the original start-up team at Delphax Systems in Mississauga, ON, where for nine years he managed an engineering team and was a key designer of the original print engine, for which he was awarded a patent. He continued on as founding partner in L.N.B. Inc. of Markham, ON, a custom design and development business providing service to some of the hi-tech industry's leading companies. After relocating to the West Coast, Chris spent several years as a product manager with Cymbolic Sciences of Richmond, BC, where he was part of the senior management team that re-structured the research and engineering group and introduced a number of very successful digital imaging products to the marketplace.

Chris joined Empire Hydrogen early in 2010 as General Manager, and brings with him enthusiasm, a wealth of business experience, team building skills, and in-depth knowledge of product design, development and manufacturing.
